Volunteer Driver
Volunteer Drivers transport children in foster care (sometimes a parent or relative) to/ from visitations, school or case plan activities. Provide a comfortable atmosphere and a safe ride. Rides may be ongoing or one-time only. Rides are in town or from outlying rural areas into the Eugene/Springfield area, Salem or Portland. Position requires use of email for communications with DHS staff and phone/ text with foster families. This position provides DHS staff with support to meet the agency's mission.
The District 5 Volunteer Transportation Program exists to assist Child Welfare Program staff & involved families with TRANSPORTATION to and from visits, school, case plan activities or medical/ mental health appointments (not covered by OHP) when no other resources are available to provide the transportation.
