Usher for Cottage Theatre
We are looking for volunteer ushers for performances of our October show, "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)[Revised]. Show dates are October 11 - 27, 2019. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. Below is more information about ushering at Cottage Theatre:
We use volunteer ushers at every performance! Our ushers represent Cottage Theatre. Their enthusiasm and helpfulness set the tone for the performance. Ushers greet arriving patrons, hand out programs, escort patrons to their seats, assist with concessions sales, and help maintain the lobby and bathrooms. In return, ushers get to see the show for free. Training is provided.
Here are our usher guidelines:
- Arrive with a smile promptly by 7:00 pm for evening performances and 1:30 pm for matinees.
- Dress in nice clothes. No blue jeans, please.
- Please refrain from wearing fragrances.
- Check in with the Box Office staff upon arriving.
- Obtain and wear an Usher badge.
- Attend brief orientation and training.
- Check tickets, hand out programs, and escort patrons to their seats. (Requires going up and down stairs.)
- Sell concessions at intermission.
- Help clean up auditorium, bathrooms & lobby following performance.
- Please give 24 hours notice if you are unable to work on your scheduled day.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 13+, Minimum Age:18+
