Right now, Oregon has one of the highest rates of childhood dental disease in the country.

52% of 6 to 9-year-olds in Oregon have a cavity, 20% have untreated decay, and 14% have rampant decay.
Dental issues can keep kids out of school and cause financial and emotional distress for families struggling to get by. Plus, helping kids create good oral hygiene habits can prevent more than just cavities because more serious health problems can result later in life from poor oral care.

United Way of Lane County and Burley are teaming up to change that.
Simple initiatives can help eliminate the dental health crisis facing our children. That is why United Way of Lane and Burley are teaming up to provide children in Lane County with a Dental Kit.

Dental Kits are a simple, preventative measure that helps to eliminate the dental health crisis facing our children. Each kit includes toothpaste, a toothbrush, floss, timer and curriculum support for educators and info for parents. By investing in this simple solution, we can empower children with healthy dental hygiene habits.

We need volunteers to help: with 19,000 dental kits to assemble, we need all the help we can get. Join us as people throughout the community come together to support this important initiative.
