SMART Reading Volunteer
Reading Matters. In Lane County, students aren’t meeting important reading benchmarks, which significantly impacts their likelihood of graduating from high school.
That’s why SMART Reading mobilizes community volunteers to read with thousands of kids and ensure they have the books and reading support they need to succeed. Help your community’s kids realize their full potential through reading.
Reading Volunteers spent one hour each week reading one-to-one with PreK through third graders, and focus on building reading motivation and engagement through fun child-guided reading sessions.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
