How Does Your Garden Grow?
Get dirty in the Pearl Buck Center’s garden area. Help us weed, spread bark mulch, and prepare the garden beds for winter. Bring your favorite yard and garden tools.
Pearl Buck Center’s Adult Day Program (Life Enhancing Activities Program – LEAP) offers adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities the opportunity to build social skills and to explore creative expression in a safe and cheerful environment. The program includes arts and crafts, music and dance, recreation and games, and community outings.
Tasks:
- Weed and clean up garden areas
- Spread with bark mulch
- Freshen up raised beds with new soil (or prepare for winter)
- *Plant something (pending donated items)
Shift: 8:30AM-3:30PM, flexible (1/2 day or full-day)
Volunteers: 1-2 teams of 4-6 people
Age Minimum (with Adult): 13+, Minimum Age:18+
