Day of Caring in West Alton Baker Park

For this year's Day of Caring, join Nearby Nature and other community members in improving overgrown garden beds in West Alton Baker Park. Volunteers will weed the beds on the east side of the big duck pond, pull any invasive plants like Armenian blackberry, and put down bark mulch as time allows. Help us beautify this space, while enjoying opportunities to view great blue heron, osprey, or waterfowl.

Please park in the Main Parking Lots, walk or ride the bus to the park, or use one of the nearby bike racks. We will gather by the kiosk on the little hill above the east duck pond area, next to the disc golf course and across the road from the bathrooms. Gloves, tools, and snacks provided. Bring a water bottle and dress for the weather. Please wear long sleeves and pants, and closed toed footwear for safety.
