Congratulations to the South Eugene Robotics Team, this year’s winners of the Volunteer of the Year Award! These Eugene/Springfield area high school students recently retrofited ride-on toy cars to donate to families served by the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center—an affordable alternative to expensive electric wheelchairs.
“These kids aren’t just our future—they inspire us today. Nothing is impossible or daunting. They lay all their ideas and enthusiasm on the line and move at lightning speed to swipe aside obstacles and reach their goals while we adult mentors sit back and watch in awe” (Mary Murphy, guardian of a modified car recipient). Congrats to the many other winners and nominees in all the service categories! More photos from today’s Volunteer of the Year Luncheon coming next week.
